Welcome Home Receptions
for Susan

After Susan's incredible journey on the ACE-Asia research project, she was fortunate enough to receive two fantastic Welcome Home Receptions.  The first Welcome Home Reception was held at her school Stetson Middle School (West Chester, PA).  

On Friday, June 1, 2001, Susan was warmly greeted by the 16th Congressional District Representative Joseph R. Pitts, Stetson's Principal, Dr. Phyllis R. Simmons,  the School Board President, Dr. Debra Arvanites, the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Linda Antonowich, the Director of Secondary Education, Mr. Michael DiBartolomeo, the District Science Supervisor, Dr. Kathleen Conn, Communications Director for NOAA's Office of Global Programs, Dr. John Kermond, and Stetson's entire Eighth Grade Class.  You can see pictures and learn more about this reception by visiting the following webpage: www.ogp.noaa.gov/ace-asia/receptions/stetson

The second reception was held Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill.  The event was hosted by Representative Joseph R. Pitts and Representative Curt Weldon.  There were several distinguished speakers at the event: Representative Joseph R. Pitts, Representative Curt Weldon, Dr. Joel Levy (NOAA's Office of Global Programs), Dr. Sylvia Edgerton (National Science Foundation), Rear Admiral Evelyn J. Fields (NOAA), and Dr. J.
